Try a future trip

Plan is a Borderly Pro feature. It lets you try dates without saving a trip or changing your travel history.

Compare dates with a counter

1. Open Plan. If you are on the free plan, the screen offers See Borderly Pro.
2. Choose the destination country.
3. Set Arrive and Depart. Both dates contribute to the proposed trip length.
4. If more than one active rule covers that country, choose a Counter.
5. Read the result, What changes, and any uncertainty warning. Adjust the dates to compare another trip.

Results update automatically; there is no Calculate button. The app checks the proposed stay across its dates and presents the result it ranks as most severe. It can show a threshold, a warning, missing information, or insufficient history.

If there is no result

No active rule covers [country] means you need to use Open rule library and activate a matching tracker or preset. A matching rule already has to be active; the planner does not automatically select every rule for that destination.

Use Review this rule to inspect the method and source. If offered, choose Complete rule questions to supply missing personal facts. Uncertain historical days must be corrected in Timeline before they can support a reliable estimate.

Compare your passport date

If a passport is saved, the planner compares its expiry with the proposed departure. With multiple passports, select one. Choose Trip only, 3 months, or 6 months under Planning buffer.

The result explains whether the passport expires before the trip ends or falls short of the selected buffer. Without a passport, use Add passport to open the wallet.

The buffer is a personal planning aid. It is not a destination-specific entry rule, and the app does not look up the destination's passport requirements for this check.

What a plan does not do

There is no Save plan, booking, calendar export, or automatic “earliest safe date” control in the implemented planner. Dates are temporary screen state, and there is no saved-plan list. To add a trip to your record, use manual entry.

Plans combine hypothetical days with existing history. They do not fully validate overlapping stays or reconcile a different country already recorded on a proposed date. Check those conflicts before interpreting a result.
