Terms of use
Effective 11 September 2026
These terms apply when you download or use Borderly for iPhone or use the Borderly Guide website. Borderly is provided by CodePlug Technologies ("CodePlug", "we", "us", or "our"). By using Borderly, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.
What Borderly provides
Borderly helps you create a personal record of travel days, view country totals, evaluate selected day-counting rules, plan possible trips, track passport expiry dates, and export records. Some features require Borderly Pro.
Borderly is an organizational tool. It does not provide legal, tax, immigration, visa, accounting, or financial advice. A counter result, warning, source link, passport reminder, planned date, or export is not an official determination of your status or eligibility.
Your responsibility for important decisions
Travel records can be incomplete or wrong. Photo metadata may be missing, an Apple place result may be inaccurate, dates can be entered incorrectly, and rule logic or official requirements can change. Some Borderly features are unfinished, including automatic location tracking and calendar import. Review your records and confirm current requirements with the relevant authority or a qualified adviser before making a decision with legal, tax, immigration, or financial consequences.
You are responsible for the information you enter, the permissions you grant, the rules you enable or import, the files you share, and the decisions you make using Borderly.
Permission to use the app
CodePlug gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Borderly for lawful personal or internal business purposes, subject to these terms and the rules of the App Store through which you obtained it.
You may not copy, sell, sublicense, distribute, interfere with, or misuse the app or website; attempt to gain unauthorized access to them; use them unlawfully; or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you are not old enough to do so where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree on your behalf.
Your data and files
You keep ownership of information you create or import. You give CodePlug no license to your on-device travel record merely by storing it in Borderly. The privacy policy explains what stays on your device and the limited situations in which Apple, Adapty, and Cloudflare process information.
You are responsible for maintaining any backup you need. A Borderly restore replaces supported record data rather than merging it, and the app does not offer automatic account recovery or its own cloud sync. CodePlug cannot recover an on-device record that you erase or lose.
You may import custom rule packages from files you choose. Borderly checks their structure and version but does not cryptographically verify who wrote them or whether their legal content is correct. Review the source and content before relying on an imported rule.
Borderly Pro and subscriptions
Subscription products, prices, billing periods, currencies, trials, and introductory offers are shown by Apple for your storefront before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account after confirmation. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple subscription settings.
Trials and introductory offers are available only when Apple determines that you are eligible. Deleting Borderly or erasing its local data does not cancel a subscription. Restore purchases asks Apple and Adapty to check whether the Apple Account has an active Borderly Pro entitlement.
Apple handles billing, refunds, and payment methods under its terms and policies. Where Apple permits a refund request, you must make that request through Apple.
Availability and changes
We may fix, change, add, restrict, or discontinue features and may update rule definitions or documentation. Device capabilities, iOS permissions, internet access, Apple services, and third-party services can affect whether a feature works. We do not promise that Borderly will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every future iOS version.
We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the app, comply with law, or address misuse. You may stop using Borderly at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue, including ownership, disclaimers, and limits of liability, survive the end of this agreement.
Intellectual property
Borderly, its software, interface, branding, and guide content belong to CodePlug or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of them to you. Third-party names, maps, frameworks, and services belong to their respective owners.
Disclaimers
To the extent allowed by law, Borderly and the website are provided “as is” and “as available.” CodePlug disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that a travel record, calculation, alert, source, export, or planned date will be complete, current, accepted by an authority, or suitable for your circumstances.
Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
Limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CodePlug is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from Borderly, including missed deadlines, travel disruption, loss of status, tax consequences, lost data, lost profits, or decisions based on an inaccurate or incomplete record.
Where liability cannot be excluded, CodePlug's total liability connected with Borderly will be limited to the amount you paid for Borderly during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless applicable law requires a different remedy or limit. These limits do not apply where the law prohibits them.
Apple terms
If you obtained Borderly through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Borderly except where law or Apple's terms say otherwise. If these terms conflict with mandatory App Store terms, the App Store terms control to that extent.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to CodePlug Technologies, without preventing you from relying on mandatory consumer protections or bringing a claim in a forum that applicable law gives you. We are not adding a private arbitration requirement or class-action waiver through these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when Borderly, our business, or legal requirements change. The current terms will appear here with a new effective date. We will provide additional notice where required. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date.
